As everyone knows, bedding really affects one’s sense of well-being.

As the seasons change, it’s time to put replacing your bedding set—a soft and comfortable four-piece set—on your to-do list.

Different bedding four-piece sets vary significantly, making it quite challenging to choose one. So, which parameters should we pay attention to?

Count, also known as English count and commonly denoted by the letter "S," is a term used in the textile industry to indicate the fineness of yarn. Currently, common counts include 40s, 60s, 80s, and 100s. The higher the count number, the finer the yarn—and the softer and more comfortable it feels to the touch. Typically, 60s and 80s are entirely sufficient for most purposes.

Common bedding materials include: cotton, linen, polyester, Tencel, and silk.

  1. Pure cotton bedding

Xinjiang long-staple cotton is the recommended choice; standard-grade Xinjiang long-staple cotton fibers should be longer than 33 millimeters. Bedding made from pure cotton boasts advantages such as excellent sweat absorption and breathability, softness and comfort, skin-friendliness, ease of cleaning, and resistance to pilling. Pure cotton bedding offers great value for money and is a commonly used material among the general public.

  2. Linen bedding

Linen bedding is typically made from linen and ramie fibers. Linen bedding is dry, breathable, and ideal for summer use—it’s wonderfully cool.

  3. Polyester bedding

Polyester bedding boasts excellent elasticity, a soft hand feel, easy care, resistance to wrinkling, and the advantage of not requiring ironing.

  4. Tencel bedding

Tencel bedding refers to bedding fabrics woven from modal and lyocell fibers. It boasts advantages such as smoothness, softness, excellent texture, good drape, strong moisture absorption and breathability, and resistance to pilling. The fabric has a particularly cool and smooth feel, making it ideal for summer use.

  5. Silk (mulberry silk) bedding

Silk bedding boasts a beautiful luster, is gentle on the skin, feels soft to the touch, resists wrinkling, has excellent stretchability, and offers superior moisture absorption and breathability. It provides a warm, cozy feel in winter and a cool, refreshing sensation in summer. With prolonged use, it can even help nourish and moisturize the skin.
